All the Breaking Waves Reviews
A sweet page-turner.
I see I'm in the minority here with my three stars, but that's okay. I did enjoy it, but I had some issues with it. Most of them would be spoilers, however. I'll just say I didn't find the characters quite as likeable as I should have. That would have been the day I would have dared to tell my grandmother she couldn't drink in her own house! I didn't really find Molly as charming as others. Also, if the age of the child hadn't been mentioned, I would have guessed she was five at some points and ...more

In All the Breaking Waves, author Kerry Lonsdale blends a masterful tale of magic realism and family saga. With its heartfelt characters and relationships—generational, maternal, and a long-ago romance—we are drawn into Molly’s world. While her intuitive gifts may be ethereal, her fears, hopes for her daughter, and personal desires are extraordinarily relatable. Woven with a thread of pure magic, Lonsdale crafts an intriguing story of love, mystery, and family loyalty that will captivate and ent ...more

These nightmares are horrible visions of life-threatening events that will happen to her friends at school. Molly grew up with these psychic abilities as did the generations of women before her.

I was in the middle of a bunch of heavy books so this was just the ticket. It is lighter but still explores serious issues like control and alcoholism, with strong psychic women who make jewelry out of sea glass. (I'm a sucker for psychics.) This is probably classified as chick lit or romance and would make the perfect beach read.
Thanks to the publisher for letting me read it early!
